“Milk consumption has been linked to higher levels of naturally-occurring antioxidants in the brain.”
I was reading this research the other day as to how milk is the main food item that helps us in our brain development and it reminded me of the Hadith where Prophet Muhammad ﷺ chose milk over wine/honey and Jibreel (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ) commended him for his wise choice.
And even though this hadith may have a deeper meaning as well but seeing it in its basic version and considering that milk is also talked about in Qur’an, it’s fair to say that it has a huge significance.
Why do you think kids are given nothing but milk for at least the first four months. Rather, doctors prescribe exclusive milk diet for first six months now – when the brain is developing its very basics.
Then why do we grow up to hate it? Perhaps we should just take it as a medicine for brain development. And all those mums and dads who force kids to drink milk because it’s so important for their growth should lead by example.
I’m rooting for milk here you guys. Now go and open your fridge and drink milk!
And yes! Once you’re done, don’t forget to recite this dua.
اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ وَزِدْنَا مِنْهُ
“O Allah! bless us in it and give us more of it”
