Submission guidelines

Jazakumullah Khairan katheeraa for your interest in Ayeina. We would like to invite our readers to join the process of teaching, sharing and learning. Every life is a story and every story is beautiful. We hope, by opening up submissions from guest authors, that we can welcome different perspectives of different reflections. Hence expanding the Ayeina team in shaa Allah. We have a very small team for now. So we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding if we fail to respond promptly.

We are open to wide range of ideas and modes of spreading khair. As long as your content will benefit the masses in a halal way, we welcome it wholeheartedly. (Please note that we are not taking any story or poetry submissions as of now). guest writers are not paid, but if you are looking for a paying Muslim market as an Islamic writer, please refer to THIS POST

If your submission falls under the literature category then kindly go through the guidelines so the whole process becomes easier for you and all of us in shaa Allah:

Basic Guidelines:

Your best way to know what we accept and how we formulate it is by looking at our previous posts. For a general idea, the following are some of the categories we have:

1: Parenthood – from Islamic Parenting to Raising Muslim Kids (Muslim homeschooling etc.)

2: Islamic Lists – we accept a wide variety of topics in this section as long as it’s in the form of a list.

3: Arabic Learning – (Arabic for non-natives – specifically, Mini Ahadith Series – short ahadith and their explanation along with root word analysis etc. for new Arabic learners and kids).

4: Qur’anic Reflections (dividing Qur’an into revisable sections and going through the Tafseer each week by writing reflections on it).

What to Submit:

1: Your amazing content of course. Which should be 1000 words or more. 

2: Excerpt: Kindly write/extract an excerpt or idea from your article so that the reader will know what it’s about, by reading your short summary.

3: Keywords: When you submit your article, kindly provide us with the list of relevant keywords – main words that are a part of your article. Separate each word with a comma.

4: Bio: Include 3-4 sentences of your introduction to the world. 

What to Take Care of:

Grammar

When you submit an article with many grammatical mistakes, our editor has to do a lot of work to make your post presentable, just to help you reach out to thousands of people, without sabotaging your image. So we want to provide ease for everyone. For your ease, Grammarly is your go-to app. It will be your grammar police so let it do most of the work for you.

Authentic references

Whether you quote ahadith or noble verses of the Qur’an, please include a proper reference. You can use Quran.com for verses and sunnah.com for ahadith.
We would like that you embed the hyperlink in your writing to the reference given and If you’ve used any type of research for the article, kindly reference it at the end. Please make sure that all your referenced links are relevant – (keep them to the minimum in general).

Avoid plagiarism:

With the influx of submissions, we are ONLY accepting original posts – not previously published (not even on your own blog). Each Author is responsible for ensuring that his or her content is either original material or is used legally. And that his or her content is appropriate for publication on the internet, in tone, language, message, etc. The author is solely responsible for any legal issues that may arise due to any negligence of the above-stated points. 
We may reject a submission on the above grounds or ask the author to fix a few things before publishing it on our site. We may edit the article to suit the general theme of AYEINA. If there is a lot of editing involved, then the article will be marked as “in collaboration with team AYEINA” along with your name. 

Reader interaction

If your article is published, please interact with any comments left for your article on Ayeina. Subscribe to stay tuned with them.
Comments will be moderated for relevance, obscenity, hateful and defamatory language. Comments are the opinions of the individuals leaving them and do not necessarily reflect the views of Ayeina or its content providers.

After Submission:

Once your article has been received, it will be reviewed by the editor. Based upon that, the following situations can occur:

– Approved: Your article is accepted for publication. One of our team members will contact you with further details. Please allow 3-4 weeks for a response. If you don’t hear from us in that time period, please feel free to submit it elsewhere.

– Edits Required: The content of your article may need further edits and rewrites. Sometimes the whole face of the article may be changed by an editor (to make it more effective and full of value) – which is not published until you approve of it. And sometimes you are asked to edit it extensively (especially when ahadith and verses have to be added with references).

– Declined: Your article has not been accepted due to reasons like – it does not meet the requirements stated above or it will require too many edits from our side. 

Please allow about 3-4 weeks for our team to review your submitted article. JazakAllah Khair for your cooperation and patience.
